CLEANABILITY STANDARDS FOR UPHOLSTERY FABRICS
The nations leading textile mills in association with the National Association of Furniture Manufacturers (NFM), the Southern Furniture Manufacturers Association (SFMA), and the National Retail Furniture Association (NRFA) have developed recommendations for cleaning today’s upholstery fabrics. Braxton Culler is one of the many manufacturers of upholstery furniture that has adopted this program, which suggests individual cleaning methods for the various fabrics used in our line. While the cleaning methods offer no guarantees, we believe these recommendations are the best and safest for maintaining the beauty of our upholstery products.
The fabric you have selected has been grouped into one of the following categories and the identifying letter has been printed on all of our fabric samples.
Cleaning Code "W"
Clean this fabric with the foam only of a water-based cleaning agent to remove overall soil. Many household cleaning solvents are harmful to the color and life of the fabric. Cleaning by a professional furniture cleaning service only is recommended. To prevent overall soil, frequent vacuuming or light brushing to remove dust and grime is recommended.
Cleaning Code “S”
Clean this fabric with pure solvents (petroleum distillate-based products, Energine, Carbona, Renuzit, or similar products may be used) in a well-ventilated room. Cleaning by a professional furniture cleaning service only is recommended. CAUTION: Use of water-based or detergent-based solvent cleaners may cause excessive shrinking. Water stains may become permanent and unable to be removed with solvent cleaning agents. Avoid products containing Carbon Tetrachloride, as it is highly toxic. To prevent overall soil, frequent vacuuming or light brushing to remove dust and grime is recommended.

Cleaning Code “D”
Dry Cleaning by a qualified professional cleaning service only.
LIMITED EXPOSURE OUTDOOR FABRICS
Please refer to individual recommended cleaning methods, which are listed on each fabric swatch. Most of these fabrics feature a soil and stain resistant finish with excellent resistance to mildew and aging, are easy to clean, and are recommended for heavy-duty use. However, these fabrics are not mildew-proof, as mildew may grow on dirt and other foreign substances that are not removed from fabric. These fabrics also have excellent resistance to fading, but over time with outdoor use and full sun exposure, colors will fade somewhat. It is recommended to avoid insect repellent and suntan lotions, which can stain fabrics. To avoid damage, wipe clean as soon as possible and clean according to the fabric cleaning instructions. The fabric cleaning code will indicate the proper procedure (i.e. – solvents, water, soap, etc.)
LIMITED EXPOSURE AND OUTDOOR COLLECTIONS
Outdoor-Limited Exposure furniture collections are all hand woven wicker and rattan frames and feature a multi step catalyzed finish process. These catalyzed finishes are ideal for use in covered areas like porches and patios where there is sufficient protection from the natural elements such as rain, sunlight, snow, etc. Outdoor-Limited Exposure products should not be placed in locations that are not covered or subject to direct or indirect exposure of the natural elements such as rain, sunlight, snow, etc. This type of exposure will eventually deteriorate the product and void all warranties. All Outdoor- Limited Exposure products feature the prefix sku number of 200 and are offered in all 15 finishes. The seat decks are constructed of Pirelli webbing, which provides deep seating comfort and durability. All frames are warranted for a period of 1 year against defects. Warranty does not include freight damage, abuse or damage caused by acts of nature. Cleaning with a damp cloth or soft brush using mild soap and water is recommended to help retard the growth of mild and mildew. Over time, periodic touch up to the finish may be required as product ages. Do not use bleach or any other harsh chemical, as this will permanently damage the finish. Fabrics are not covered by these warranties.
Outdoor-Weatherproof : Umbrellas next to style number on catalog pages indicates furniture designed for use in all weather conditions. The Outdoor-Weatherproof furniture collections are hand crafted from resin weaves and extruded resin materials, making them totally weatherproof. Please see individual item in price book for finish availability and restrictions. Standard features include galvanized coil cushions, encased in weather and mildew resistant ticking and backed by a limited 5 year warranty. Backs are 100% polyester fiber designed for all weather use. E-Z-Dri grommets are installed in cushions, allowing cushions to dry out quickly. All frames are warranted for period of 2 years against defects. Warranty does not include freight damage, abuse or damage caused by acts of nature. All Outdoor-Weatherproof products feature the prefix sku number of 400 and are offered in several finishes. Fabrics are not covered by these warranties.
